Royal Holloway Students' Union

Royal Holloway Students' Union (RHSU) is a registered charity that actively represents over 9,000 students of Royal Holloway. They're independent of the University and led by a team of five sabbatical officers, a permanent staff team and volunteers. Their mission is to make student life better at Royal Holloway.

01. Context
Royal Holloway Students' Union (RHSU) is a registered charity that actively represents over 9,000 students of Royal Holloway.
During my time as Communications Coordinator for RHSU, my role focused on the management of the organization's online marketing channels (e.g. Website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.) to develop a digital presence and engage with the student populace. It also involves the creation of original content and sub-editing of external copy-writing.
One of my key projects was to develop a content style guide to to support and empower fellow staff and stakeholders in the creation of content, through sub-editing and coordination – potentially also including ghost-written content where appropriate.
Working closely with the Head of Marketing, I wrote the brand guidelines which underwent many drafts, before creating the document on Adobe InDesign. This project had a positive impact within the organisation as the content style guide enabled us to increase the output of written content by outsourcing it to other relevant writers outside of RHSU.
